The result of your pregnancy test will be given to
you only. Therefore, when you call for the result, we will ask for specific
information as a means of identification to insure your confidentiality. Please
do not ask your friends or relatives to call for you.
POSITIVE RESULT
1. If you have decided to continue with the pregnancy please start your
prenatal care now. Call your physician to set up an appointment at your
earliest convenience. If you do not have a physician, we will provide you with
information about obstetricians in your area.
2. In the event that you are unsure of your options,we will be happy to
schedule an appointment for you to talk with one of our counselors at no cost
to you. We will do our best to provide you with information to help you
determine what will be best for you under your special circumstances.
3. Should you decide to terminate the pregnancy, please call us to schedule
an appointment. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the
procedure and any other appropriate concerns.
NEGATIVE RESULT
1. If your test result is negative, we suggest you have the test repeated
in two weeks if your period has not started. During that time period, you
should use a method of birth control, such as foam and condoms, to prevent a
possible unplanned pregnancy.
2. REMEMBER:
-In order for the urine pregnancy test to be accurate, it must be done no
earlier than 45 days from the first day of your last normal period.
-If you had the early urine test performed and the result was negative,
have the regular urine test done in 45 days after your last normal period.
-When you are unsure of the date of your last period, have the early urine
test repeated in two weeks.
REMEMBER
1. No test is 100% accurate.
2. If you have had two negative test results, you should schedule an
appointment to be examined by the doctor to determine the possible reasons for
missing a period. The pelvic exam is the only means to determine the stage of
your pregnancy. He will advise you at that time of the follow-up care that you
may need.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the
pregnancy test or you are unsure of your results. We will be more than happy to
answer any questions you may have.
