Compassionate abortion care built around your needs

Choosing an abortion provider is personal. Our team offers nonjudgmental communication, medical expertise, and a respectful environment for every patient, including those traveling from Bossier City, Louisiana. We listen carefully, review your health history, and make sure you understand your options before any procedure begins.

In-clinic abortion may be performed up to 17 weeks from your last menstrual period, depending on clinical eligibility. A clinician will determine the gestational age of the pregnancy and discuss the care options appropriate for you. We never treat a medical decision as one-size-fits-all.

What your in-clinic visit may include

Your care starts with a private evaluation and an opportunity to discuss concerns with a qualified clinician. The team reviews your medical information, confirms pregnancy details, and provides instructions tailored to your situation. You can ask for clarification at any point because informed consent matters.

  • A complete health history and private consultation
  • Pregnancy testing and appropriate blood work
  • An ultrasound or examination to help determine pregnancy length
  • A discussion of available abortion options and aftercare
  • Recovery monitoring and discharge guidance from a nurse

For many eligible patients, an in-clinic procedure uses aspiration to empty the uterus and typically takes about 5 to 10 minutes. A clinician remains with you during the procedure, while nursing staff support you in recovery. Many patients feel better quickly and return to normal activities the following day, although individual recovery experiences vary.

Professional support before, during, and after care

Our abortion care center is committed to helping you feel prepared rather than rushed. Before treatment, we explain what to expect, answer questions about comfort and recovery, and review important instructions. After your appointment, you will receive aftercare information and guidance about when to contact the clinic with concerns.

Patients can also discuss birth control choices with a clinician as part of their visit. Whether you already know what you prefer or want medically informed guidance, we can help you consider options that align with your needs. This continuity of care is one reason patients choose Potomac Family Planning for reproductive health services.

Understanding your abortion options and appointment choices

Different types of care may be appropriate at different points in pregnancy and based on your medical history. Our team will review eligibility, timing, and your preferences privately, without pressure. That conversation helps you select a path that feels medically appropriate and manageable for you.

Medication care and in-clinic procedures

A medication abortion uses prescribed medicines to end an early pregnancy and is sometimes called abortion by pill. It takes place over more than one step, so patients should understand the timing, expected symptoms, follow-up needs, and eligibility requirements before choosing this option. Our clinicians can explain whether this approach may be suitable based on your pregnancy length and health information.

The abortion pill is not the same experience as an in-clinic procedure, and the best option depends on individual circumstances. During a consultation, our team can explain the expected process, what support is available, and how to follow your care instructions. Having accurate information can make it easier to choose with confidence rather than uncertainty.

An aspiration procedure is a commonly performed in-clinic method that uses gentle suction to empty the uterus. It is completed by a licensed, experienced gynecologist, with a clinician present throughout the procedure and a nurse monitoring recovery. For patients who prefer a procedure completed during a clinic visit, this option may offer a direct and efficient care experience.

Some patients have limited scheduling flexibility or need to discuss prompt appointment availability. Our expedited abortion services are intended to help eligible patients explore faster scheduling options when circumstances require timely attention. Contact the office directly so our staff can review current availability, clinical requirements, and the next appropriate step.

For patients who want an enhanced level of privacy and individualized attention, VIP abortion care may be worth discussing with our scheduling team. This service is designed for people seeking additional discretion and a more personalized appointment experience. We can explain what the service includes and whether it is available for the type of care you need.

Practical guidance for patients traveling from Bossier City

Potomac Family Planning does not have an office in Bossier City, LA. Instead, we serve patients from Bossier City and other Louisiana communities at our Maryland clinics in Rockville, Baltimore, and Hagerstown. When you call, our team can discuss appointment planning and help you identify which listed clinic location is appropriate for your requested service.

Having multiple locations can make access more flexible for patients coordinating an in-person appointment. Rather than assuming one office is right for every patient, we encourage you to discuss scheduling needs and service availability with our staff. That support can help you make an informed plan before traveling for care.

  1. Contact Potomac Family Planning to request an appointment.
  2. Share relevant health information and the date of your last menstrual period.
  3. Discuss available services, timing, and the Rockville, Baltimore, or Hagerstown location.
  4. Review preparation and aftercare instructions before your visit.
  5. Attend your appointment with the confidence that a trained clinical team will guide you.

Cost should not prevent you from getting reliable information. Our pricing information can help you understand the expected cost of services and plan for your appointment. Because costs can vary by service and individual circumstances, speaking with our team is the best way to receive current, relevant details.

We also know that payment questions can add stress to an already difficult moment. Information about insurance and funding assistance can help patients explore coverage and potential financial support options. Our staff is available to help you better understand available pathways and determine whether you may qualify for assistance.

Reliable education can make a meaningful difference before and after your appointment. Our online resources provide helpful information that patients can review while considering care, preparing for a visit, or learning about reproductive health options. We encourage you to use trusted clinical information alongside a direct conversation with our team.
