For patients seeking an Abortion Clinic with established clinical care, Potomac Family Planning offers in-clinic services performed by licensed, experienced gynecologists. Compassionate In-Clinic Care for Monroe Patients

Our abortion care clinic provides private consultations, pregnancy confirmation, clinical evaluation, and individualized guidance before treatment. An in-clinic abortion may be performed up to 17 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period, depending on your medical evaluation. The team will explain what is appropriate for your stage of pregnancy and health history.

During your visit, you can expect a calm, respectful environment and attentive clinical oversight. The procedure itself uses aspiration to empty the uterus and generally takes about 5 to 10 minutes. A clinician remains with you throughout the procedure, while nursing staff monitor your recovery and provide discharge instructions.

Your visit is built around informed, private decisions

Every person arrives with different concerns, medical needs, and support systems. Our reproductive health clinic creates time for a private conversation so you can review your health history, ask questions, and discuss contraceptive options if you choose. We want you to leave with practical aftercare information and a clear understanding of what comes next.

  • A full medical and health-history review
  • Pregnancy testing and appropriate blood work
  • An ultrasound or examination to help determine pregnancy length
  • Direct guidance from licensed clinicians and recovery monitoring
  • Aftercare instructions and an opportunity to discuss birth control

Many patients feel physically better soon after an aspiration procedure and return to usual activities the following day. Individual recovery experiences vary, so it is important to follow the instructions provided by your clinician and contact the practice if you have concerns. Our women’s health clinic is here to support safe, medically appropriate care rather than leave you to sort through confusing information alone.

Understand Your Abortion Options and Appointment Needs

Comparing care options with a qualified clinician

A medication abortion uses prescribed medicines to end an early pregnancy and may be an option based on gestational age and your medical circumstances. During a consultation, a clinician can explain how this option works, what to expect at home, and whether it fits your situation. You do not have to decide based on online information alone.

The abortion pill option involves a process that occurs over time, with specific instructions and follow-up guidance from the clinical team. It is different from an in-clinic procedure, so timing, comfort with home management, and eligibility can all matter. Potomac Family Planning can help you compare the practical and medical considerations with sensitivity.

An aspiration procedure is an in-clinic method in which a clinician uses gentle suction to empty the uterus. It is commonly performed, brief, and completed in a medically supervised environment with a care team available during the visit. Your clinician will review benefits, possible risks, recovery expectations, and your questions before you consent to treatment.

If your circumstances require a streamlined visit, expedited abortion services may help eligible patients receive prompt, organized care. Availability and suitability depend on your individual situation, appointment scheduling, and clinical assessment. Contact the office early so staff can explain current options and help you understand the information needed before your visit.

Care with added privacy and personalized attention

VIP abortion care is designed for patients who want an elevated level of privacy, comfort, and individualized coordination during their appointment. This service can be especially meaningful when discretion, personal scheduling needs, or a more tailored experience are important. Ask the team about available accommodations and whether this option is appropriate for you.

Choosing a provider is about more than selecting a procedure. A trusted abortion provider should offer medically sound information, skilled clinicians, clear follow-up directions, and respectful communication at every stage. Potomac Family Planning combines those essentials with a supportive approach that recognizes your autonomy.

Clear Costs, Helpful Information, and Regional Access

Understanding pricing before an appointment can reduce uncertainty and help you plan with confidence. Costs may vary based on pregnancy length, the type of service, testing, and clinical needs, so it is best to speak with the office about your individual visit. Our staff aims to provide straightforward details so you can make an informed financial decision.

Potomac Family Planning offers information about insurance and funding assistance for patients who may need help understanding coverage or exploring financial support. Staff can discuss possible funding options and help you identify questions to ask about insurance benefits. Reaching out before your appointment gives you more time to review available pathways.

Our online resources provide useful educational information for people preparing for abortion care, considering options, or looking for answers after a visit. Reliable education can help you distinguish clinical facts from misinformation and arrive better prepared to talk with your provider. These materials support, but do not replace, personalized medical guidance from your care team.
